Aims:

  • To promote creativity and divergent thinking.

  • To talk about Lego bricks and their use.

  • To share past experiences.

  • To promote critical thinking skills: compare and contrast ideas, predict information.

  • To learn / talk about skyscrapers and how they are built.

  • To listen for gist and for detail.

  • To design a skyscraper following some criteria.

Use of language & lexis:

  • To use different tenses to talk about past and present situations.

  • To learn / review vocabulary to talk about skyscrapers.

  • To learn / review modal verbs "would" to describe possible events and desires and "have to" for obligation.

  • To learn / review adjectives to describe buildings.

  • To learn / review comparatives and superlatives.

  • To learn / review passive voice (optional: e.g. it was built in...)

  • To learn / review verbs to express changes in materials (e.g. bend, flex, compress, etc.)
